I did a talk and mini-workshop in ClujHub in Romania on Design Thinking for Artificial Intelligence, setting apart how designers and machine learning engineers can collaborate to create human-centered AI products and services.
I was invited to speak at ClujHub in Cluj-Napoca, Romania by @innovatingsociety. My talk and mini-workshop was titled Design Thinking for Artificial Intelligence, and set apart how designers and machine learning engineers can collaborate to create human-centered AI products and services.
The introduction consisted of a crash course to AI/ML, a look at common applications, followed by a small workshop in which we ideated and developed AI concepts using the AI meets design toolkit and cards, and closed with a quick glance at some of the complexities of designing for AI.
It was incredible to see how many engineers were present and open to invite the value of designers in the process, and how many designers were present and willing to wrap their head about AI/ML as a design material.
