KRO-NCRV: AI video generation for vodcasts

In fall 2024, KRO-NCRV partnered with AIxDESIGN to research, prototype, and validate generative AI for vodcasts. We ran a research-by-making comparison: three production experiments, each with its own workflow, documenting quality, time, cost, and carbon. 38 hours of production and 276 kg of CO₂ tracked later, the broadcaster had grounded answers instead of vendor promises – and the research dossier is open. My role: research lead + syntographer, with Ploi Flynn (project lead) and Fabian Mosele (research support + syntographer).
