I was invited to speak at ClujHub in Cluj-Napoca, Romania by @innovatingsociety. My talk and mini-workshop was titled Design Thinking for Artificial Intelligence, and set apart how designers and machine learning engineers can collaborate to create human-centered AI products and services.

The introduction consisted of a crash course to AI/ML, a look at common applications, followed by a small workshop in which we ideated and developed AI concepts using the AI meets design toolkit and cards, and closed with a quick glance at some of the complexities of designing for AI.

It was incredible to see how many engineers were present and open to invite the value of designers in the process, and how many designers were present and willing to wrap their head about AI/ML as a design material.

The part before the workshop – the crash course and common applications – is recorded and published on YouTube:

Multumesc for coming out to my talk + mini-workshop on Design Thinking for AI at @cluj.hub last week! It was incredible to see how many engineers were present and open to invite the value of designers in the process, and how many designers were present and willing to wrap their head about AI/ML as a design material 🕹️ following a crash course to AI/ML, a look at common applications, we did a small workshop with the cards, and discussed the importance of design. Needless to say it was also a great excuse to come to Romania, check out the salt mine turned sci-fi theme park, eat papanasi, and sip visnate while catching up with friends I also have the pleasure to collaborate with 👯 Big thanks @innovatingsociety, @t2dro, @alksgrtz, @kvleen for the invite and the good care and teaching me my 20 first Romanian words. Thanks to all the audience and cool people I’ve connected with for coming out✨ Can we also giggle at how my family used to make up games to get me to shut the hell up, and now people fly me over the open my mouth lol. Tables have turned, life is a funny thing, and I’m deeply grateful for the opportunities🧳 photos by @moonlab_media
